MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Tried the colgate option & failed
Seems to be a variety of mildly abrasive things marketed that I doubt are better than toothpaste, though clearly haven't tried
I'm not seeing much in the way of "fillers" - do they not exist ?
Anyone had success with anything (cheap - only 1 disc to fix just now and hopefully my kids are learning to take more care) ?
download it, burn a new disc ?
it's a wii game, but yeh, guess I could (I don't do trrents etc though)
ah, games are much less tolerant to scratches than audio. unfortunately you would need to get your wii chipped to run a "copy".
There's a secondhand CD shop here that offers disc polishing - they have some kind of machine that refinishes the disc. Costs about £1.50, I believe. You might have somewhere similar locally.

game used to do it. pretty successful too.
Fillers do exist. You can get a sort of polish that has a similar refractive index, to fill in the grooves. Sort of works but a lot of elbow grease is required.
Try car polish, i've had sucess using autoglym super resin polish.
Took a scratch out of a bike computer and camera display with great success once too!

bigynn is right that AG super resin polish will fill scratches, but only temporarily as it is full of fillers which will be removed through subsequent washing and rain.
Just thinking out loud here (forgive me if I am wrong) but AG super resin polish also has a bit of cut in it as well and that will reduce the height of the edges to the scratch and maybe help the mechanism to read the disc?
What game is it? There's always a chance someone might have a copy going spare - I've certainly got some wii games that never get used...
thanks y'aw
gone for a car scratch filler pen from amazon - was the only thing cheaper than a replacement used disc 🙄
(steve - is wii play but hopefully sorted now, ta)
Blockbuster have a machine that will sort it. only a few quid.
What not try one of these - been using one for years - really good

Can you send the disc to Nintendo for replacement? Or buy a used, working, copy on eBay?
SkipDr, they work really well. I've had one for 8 years and done loads of CDs and games which wouldn't play or load initially.

This.
