Just moved house with our 14 year old mog.

She seems happy now things have calmed down a bit, but we're unsure as to how long to keep her inside for.
Opinions seem to vary massively.
She's always been an outdoor cat, but her eyesight isn't too good these days.

Read so many different opinions, but would appreciate some real world advice.

Thanks in advance.

2-3 weeks. Let her first out when she's hungry ie not just been fed, more likely to stay close awaiting food.....

2 weeks, then let her out, just before your feed her, will give her a incentive to come back 😉

💡 pop a sim card up her pooper, that way if she goes missing you can just activate a lost my phone app to find her 💡

We were quite worried when we moved house as our cat was quite nervous & we thought the move might really mess her up.
Once she'd been in the new house for a couple of days, she was like a different cat - loads more confident & a lot less nervous. We were going to keep her in for 2 weeks, but after 1 week she was climbing the walls. We tentatively let her out & she was fine. Wandered around for a few minutes, wandered back in the house, back out, back in etc... for the rest of the day. So long as the door was kept open, so she could get inside if need be, she was fine...

If you're really worried you can get GPS / Phone trackers for pets, a few were reviewed in the Sunday Times In Gear section yesterday.....

Open the door she'll be fine as long as you are there.
Maybe keep her in whilst you go out for the first 2 weeks, but that's all.

yep, butter on the paws always worked with our cats after just a couple of days (after things have calmed down like).

Moved house with two cats a few years back - both cats had been at the old address for about seven years. The intention was to keep them in for the first week but they were climbing the walls by day two. We ended up letting them out on the second night and had absolutely no problems with either of them.
