I found an old cheque which I never cashed, it’s a giro cheque that was sent to from Switzerland some 8 years ago! Anyone ever cashed an old cheque?
Banks won't take cheques older than 6 months. You will need to get in touch with the issuer and ask for a replacement.
Well it’s not dated and from what I’ve read cheques don’t expire.

I’ve put quite a few cheques > 6 months into Lloyds with no problems. 8 year old cheque fro CH might be different tho!
Sort of. Banks shouldn't take cheques older than six months.
In reality (I used to look for fraudulent ones for Lloyds) only stuff over £10k gets checked, chances are no-one would spot it and it would just go through, try it.
