The saga with the car continues. Basically i need use of the car for Wednesday morning (this was all a bit last minute sorta thing)
Got insurance on Friday sorted, documents haven't arrived but should be here tomorrow. If they do just go to post office for a tax disc, bish bash bosh done.
IF they don't though i can tax it online using the V5 number, it's MOT'd and i do have the insurance certificate number so it'll be good to go.
Spoke with the DVLA and they told me that becuase the car was/is Sorn at the momment, i will have 5 days grace to drive the car without displaying the tax disc.
BUT im reading lots of cases where people who have taxed it are getting done for "not displaying" a disc - so despite the car being tax'd there not showing the disc - as they wont have it for a few days etc..
Now has this happened to anyone ? Would the Police be that sad ?
Just asking becuase i have to go to the airport so lots of Camera's, lots of police etc....
Out of scores of cops I've worked with, I only know one who puts tickets on cars for expired or absent tax discs, and she checks with DVLA first to see if the tax has in fact been paid. Mine expires today, and my new disc hasn't arrived in the post yet despite me paying it over a week ago. I'm not worrying about it.
