I've never had to make a car insurance claim and am not sure what to do.
Someone left an object in the road which I, carelessly, drove over damaging the car. The car is now in the garage awaiting the arrival of new parts.
Proving who left the offensive article is going to be difficult/impossible.
I'm considering making a claim on my insurance, but not sure if it's going to be worth it as there is a 300€ excess charge.
Question. Can I claim for lost work due to the accident which is mounting up now?

Will it not tell you in your policy what exactly you can and cant claim for?

Calling them up will tell me but I'm not paying for a call when the answer might appear here for free. 😀

The chances of your car insurance covering your consequential losses are approximately diddly squat or a bit less than that.
In the uk you could add it to a claim against another party assuming it was reasonable.

Without someone to claim off? I doubt it unless you have an expensive 'bells & whistles' policy
With all claims though you're obliged to mitigate the loss, can you not hire a car? - you be more likely to have cover for that

I kind of assumed that the claim of time would be made against the other party, and as it will be difficult to prove the answer is diddly squat.

Cheers.
