We have an alarm, it needs a new motherboard because the previous fitter 'found god' and disappeared from the known earth, taking with him the master engineer code.
Been quoted silly money by Guardian Alarms (they charged £60 for a call-out that involved them being at our house for approx 2 minutes whilst they silenced it and no, they wouldn't waive that if we gave them the new motherboard job to do) so don't really want to throw them any more work to be honest.

Or do it yourself (it's not difficult) and fit a new box and keypad yourself. Probably about £40 max in parts and an hour's work.
