A few of us are trying to book a weekend away camping/mountain biking mid August and really struggling to get booked because:

> Sites are fully booked (to be expected given other travel restrictions)
> Same sex groups not allowed! (3 blokes all 35 year old+)
> Minimum bookings of 4+ nights, etc.

I reckon it’d be easier getting a stag do booked into the ritz than the same group of blokes into the corner of a muddy field in Cumbria! FFS

We’re travelling from Newcastle so initially looking at Lakes but every enquiry is a no go.. so now looking a little further afield.

Does anyone have any campsite recommendations please? In England, close (ish) to trails, 4 hours max drive from Newcastle, same sex groups allowed..

Cheers

Enjoy!

The pub in Low Lorton used to do a lovely pie. Not been for about 5 years.

Coniston old Hall fits the bill. (for future reference)

I don't think there's any configuration of camping group that Coniston Old Hall doesn't take, just don't go if you want a quiet weekend..
