Nice site within an hour's drive of Loughborough required for a one night stopover to try out new tent (Saturday on the BH weekend). Decent bogs/showers or wife not interested. Def has to have a decent pub within a very short walk away! Our default is Coopers in Edale but the Nags Head ain't what it used to be...oh, a nice strolly-type walk nearby too....go!

New Hall Farm, near Southwell in Notts. It has showers, is a pretty decent site, has a few good walks around and the local pub is about 20 minutes walk away. Couple of decent pubs in Southwell, which is about 3 miles from the site.

Beehive at Rosliston. Can't comment on pubs but the café is great!

You Guys

Another thread of (by the look of them) excellent camp sites.

Thank you

Wayne,

Camped here a few times, really nice site and you can pitch right on the waters edge if it hasn't changed.

Red Lion just down the road is very good from what I recall.

Some nice quintessential British countryside.

The Roaches may be a bit further away than your looking but stayed here the other weekend
Lovely little campsite, superb location in middle of nowhere but pub a miles walk down the road and IMO one of the nicest and quietest parks of the PDNP

Holme Pierrepont?

Rather than at the water sports centre itself, try Thornton's Holt just a few minutes away. Don't be put off by reviews of the toilet block - brand new one just opened in the last few weeks.

The water sports centre is well worth a visit too - try the white water stuff if you feel adventurous!
