My wife has agreed to soften the blow of my upcoming 50th birthday by treating me to a new camera. Having seen the results people were getting with the GF1, I've been hankering for a micro 4/3 for a while now, as I tend not to take the DSLR with me a lot of the time because it's too bulky.
Having done lots of reading, I've narrowed my choice down to either the Nikon v1 or the Panasonic GX1 with the 14-42 power zoom lens. Although the Panasonic has the bigger sensor, higher reolution and a built in flash, the Nikon has a built in electronic viewfinder, better colour depth and more focus points. While the GX1 seems to be the better camera overall, I wonder if the Nikon might give better real world results, especially with the viewfinder.
I suspect at the end of the day I'd enjoy using either camera, but I wondered if anyone in here had used either or both and had any opinions?
