Following the failure of my hard drive, I've realise that a lot of the photo's I've lost from the pc, are still on the iphone from the last synch I did. I've now go the pc back and running, but it's effectivly a 'new' pc therefor a synch will delete the photo's on the phone. So, how do I get them off? I can email them one at a time (there's hundereds of the buggers but I'll do it if I have to!) but looking for a way that's more akin to getting the ones off the camera (via windows explorer).
All help greatfully recieved!

Just plug it in and surely it won't be set to sync anyway (as all original settings would be lost) and open the phone to view files ( windows dialogue box).

Anyway, doesn't syncing not actually delete pictures on the phone?

DO check what I have said is right before doing anything though!

This only seems to work with the pictures taken on the phone (camera role) not the ones synched witha folder via itunes. I've plugged the phone in and got the message that it will delete photo's on the phone. I guess it because itunes doesn't recognise the phone anymore, it'll also stop you copying music across I guess which is why it's like that. I'm happy to lose the music - it's the photo's I want.

Can't you just go into the iPhone from 'My Computer' and copy/import the pictures? The iPhone will (should?) show up as a portable device - right click and there'll be an option to import pictures/video.

If you have a mac open up iphoto whilst the phone is connected you can import all or a selection.

Can you use Dropbox to sync them all to the cloud? And then install Dropbox on your PC/mac to sync with that?

It's on a PC, and whilst I can get the photo's off that I have taken with the camera via 'my computer' route, the ones that I've put onto the phone via itunes seem to be locked. I think it's what apple do to stop you copying music files etc to new devices. I've realise I can email them all individually, but that'll take a long, long time...! Any other thoughts (or is there a windows setting that I can change to make these files visible?)
Cheers

Oh, I see. It's the pictures in Photo Library, not in Camera Roll. You did mention that earlier and I over looked it - beg your pardon. Apparently, you can use Kodak's Easyshare software (link) or something like Tansee (free trial available).

I don't know for certain, but i think you might be able to use this or the iPhone Explorer program made by the same people to help Pod to PC

Send multiple photos or videos at the same time:  When viewing thumbnails in an album, tap* , then tap to select the photos or videos you want to send, tap Share, and tap Email.

*tap the box with arrow icon for emailing or saving to homepage.

Yeah, or (as mentioned above) use Dropbox. As there is now a Dropbox app, you can do it all directly from the iPhone too I would have thought (assuming iTunes doesn't lock the pictures in the same way).
