I've snapped 2 today.. So last day of last season I snapped one randomly. Then 3rd day of fishing this yr and I've snapped 2!
Don't spose anyone's got a butt section from a mk2 John Wilson Avon and a float tip from a mk3. Bloody wilsons laughing all the way to the bank..

Be honest now, you trod on them eh? Well, that's what I did once! Managed to get a new section by phoning every tackle shop in the UK until one had a whole rod minus a section I didn't need that he couldn't get rid of. Mine for £10 posted. Not bad for a £70 rod.

Happily I've discovered my mk2 top fits my mk3 butt. Winner winner. Snapped butt trying to remove a Chubb from some streamer.

that's exactly the rod that i've squashed, too... i think they can be repaired. try an angling forum. more likeyl to throw up some results than asking on here....

if you do ask, let me know, please.... 🙂

If you keep snapping them why don't you just buy a bigger/thicker fishin' stick?

brilliant!!!! well done that (working class, salt of the earth) man.....

sorry wysiwyg.... i'm going to get it repaired when i sort out my german rod license (20 weeks of night school and ~700€!!!). it's the bottom half that i crushed. i'm sure you can get it repaired. i can remember reading something years back in Improve Your Coarse Fishing....

@ CFH.... i've got a load of old split cane rods that would make many a man weep. got one of them repaired by a guy out in Norfolk years back. thinking of putting the old carp rod on the wall as decoration.
