The item is just shy of £50 with p&p.

what type of good is it? probably just VAT, value too low for customs duty.

20% if it gets flagged.. plus 20% on the shipping cost.. plus a nice fat handling fee. About £20 if you have to pay.

Make sure whoever you're purchasing from hasn't signed up to the Global Shipping Program. I've been stung twice recently and it bumps the shipping costs up considerably. Wish I'd known about it before buying the goods.
