Long time since I've bought a console but I'm looking for a PS5 Slim disc. Prices all seem to have bounced up to £480 or thereabouts from pre-Christmas £380-£420ish.
Are the prices normally this up and down? I foolishly thought I'd get something in the january sales 🙁
january sales
Don’t happen anymore really. Thank Black Friday.
*Remembers folk queuing up outside Next at 4am on Boxing Day, when all of this were fields…
The cheapest my son could find one from before Christmas was direct from PlayStation. 380 direct for the full fat one. I think the slims were 50 quid less. I'd wait it out for another sale tbh.
Oh, and get It Takes Two. It's a bloody brilliant.co op game.
There's the whole AI-driven RAM-pocalypse going on at the moment as well. Memory sticks costing upwards of £500, top spec GPUs now going for £thousands. It will be driving wannabe PC gamers back to the consoles. Maybe £480 is the new baseline?
I paid £280 for a PS5 Slim (digital) during black friday. Its £70 to add a disc drive, which was £30 less than buying a disc version.
EDIT: refurbished one from Sony? https://direct.playstation.com/en-gb/buy-consoles/certified-refurbished-playstation5-console
Very had some good sales on PS5s not sure they are still on. There often deals for them now as it’s been around for over 5 years.
I traded in my 13 year old PS4 and got a £102 towards a PS5 direct from Sony (£52 for the console plus £50 bonus from Sony, via Back Market) just before Cristmas. PS5 slim discs were £380 but I paid an extra £40 for the Ghost of Yotei version, which included the game and fancy cover / controller. I'm sure they'll be down under £400 again soon.
