...Without having lived in it?

Is this ever possible?

Basically our neighbours are moving out of the 1 bed bungalow next door. It’s in a pretty poor state externally and internally from what we have seen and heard from them. It’s one of a tiny handful of HA houses in the village, but only a few miles from a bigger town. I would have thought the HA might consider selling it for a premium based on the village location, to then put more money into housing elsewhere in the county, but am I barking up the wrong tree?

Is it just a case of contacting them and asking?

As an aside it’s not for a buy to let, evil middle class landlord plan, it’s the in-laws that want to downsize and be closer to us for care etc.

If there's a waiting list at all for LA houses in your area, then I can't see them letting you buy.

In this case Binners their website very much looks that way. As they say you if you don’t ask...

Entirely depends on the housing association. I work for one and mine doesn’t. I don’t think any of them should. Nothing personal. Give them a call and ask.
