Loved the original cannonball run as a kid and probably the film which introduced me to ladies and the countach 😍

Dropping like flies now, all those 70s/80s legends. Though Boogie Nights was probably one of his best (oh, forgot Deliverance. Still, I prefer Boogie Nights).

Ah, just watched Deliverance the other week. Easily one of the best films ever made.

RIP Burt. One of the classics.

🙁

One of my childhood idols. I used to laugh so much at his films - just perfect for the time.

There’s a part of me that will always want to be driving a black Trans Am in a cloud of dust down a dirt road with a smart-talking Sally Field next to me...

RIP. The Bandit.

Proper movie star.

Did he not disown Boogie Nights?

Fantastic performance and film.

Striptease better left forgotten.

I wonder how many CB radios were sold because of the Bandit films!?

I'm feel rather sad that I can't remember by handle from back in the day. My mum would never let us have one so most evenings were spent round at a mates house using his gear.

Oh no! Me and my old man used to love watching his old films.

Sad news but some of the funniest and most memorable films of my younger years. Loved the Bandit and Cannonball films.

Bloopers were always great

Great quote from him on the radio this morning:

”I’m not here to challenge myself as an actor, I’m here to have fun”

Well it certainly looked he managed that in some style

Anyone see the fast n loud episode he was in?

the guys wanted him to sign a part of a trans am (glovebox lid iirc) and as he was doing so, they said

‘Bet you’ve done that a few times?’

*looks up, gives a knowing smile*

’On things you wouldn’t belieeve...’

RIP, legend.

It’s hard to see the bandit in his later roles especially last movie star which seems kind of apt. Past his prime but with still more to give but a body broken by doing too many of his own stunts...

sad day today

I absolutely LOVED they used him in Archer.

May he rest in peace.
