Took the boy out in the new buggy. Had the roof up as it was nice and warm. Felt a bit guilty when we stopped off and realised he had a fine layer of grit all over. Presumably flicked up from the back wheel of the bike

Any simple solutions to stopping him getting a face full of grit. Ideally I'd rather not have to zip him up with the waterproof down when its hot

Ours has a mesh screen but it still doesn't really help with the dust. I'm seriously thinking about getting proper full length mudguards for my gnarmac bike just for this purpose!

You mean a kiddy trailer on the bike? Same issue with ours. You can't really run it with the front open as the kids inevitably get showered in grit, dust, or mud depending on the trail condition.

Unless it's a dry tarmac trail I generally leave it shut and open the "sunroof" bit instead.

SKS Chromos at the back helped a bit but still pretty bad sometimes.

Full mudguards and really slow riding required at times.

I forgot about this the first time I took out our first when she was a toddler. My wife really didn't appreciate a child covered head to toe in mud although the little'un wasn't phased.

I always shut the flap unless it was nice smooth dry conditions

Glad it's not just me who made this mistake and got told off by the mother of his child...

My wife said she was going to design something to stop it happening, to which I said 'you mean a mudguard?'.

yep kids trailer. Maybe I'll try and bodge something on the front of the buggy.

seems a bit of a design flaw needs a perspex shield or something

had a chariot for now oldest teen antigee and fitted a piece of clear perspex that went about 2/3rd way up the front - think I just clipped it on the tube across the bottom with 3 or 4 big fold back clips (the sort for clipping really fat piles of paper together) and then a bungee across near the top- local rail trail was basically coal dust mud slime
