I came off my bike around May last year, and hit my right elbow very hard - it was numb at first, then hurt like hell.

I went to see my physio a few days later, as i'd also done my kneck in ( turns out i'd compressed a couple of vertebrae) and he said it was a bruised bone. Said there was nothing i could do about it. He has sorted out ons of other injuries for me, but i'm doubting him on this one...

Would that still be hurting 8 months down the line? I seem to get an aching pain alot of the time, and sometimes ( very occasionally) when i extend the arm, it kind of stops halfway, and hurts alot...

Its not so bad that i cant ride my bike etc, but i cant use a hammer to chase out bricks etc for a long time anymore for my work.

I did suffer from very mild tennis elbow at one point, but sorted that out and it hadnt bothered me for a long time, this feels different.

DOes this sound like a bruised bone?

I believe it is possible to bruise bones. Can't imagine it lasts that long though? Certainly when I've bruised bony spots I've known about it for a few weeks.

Not sure, but I think nerve damage can take several months to heal, and a blow to the elbow could well do that. Then again, maybe you broke something, did you get an X-ray?

yes, you can bruise bones but i'd want a lot more information before giving any sort of opinion on this. certainly, and without wanting to undermine your faith in your physio, some other sort of follow up would seem indicated, particularly after the length of time and continuing impairment.
