The DVD player gave up the ghost the other day so i need to get a new one. But is it really worth it getting Blu Ray over a DVD player?
Any advice?

might as well get a bluray - but have you also thought about a PS3?
We went Blu-ray when our old DVD player died. They have come down in price alot now (we bought our last year and got a good samsung one with 5 Blu-rays for £90) and they upscale DVDs to better quality too.
However it depends if you have a HD telly too.
My bluray also acts as a media centre so i can stream files from my desktop and online via youtube.
I also have an account with lovefilm for actual blurays...
HD TV? Little point if your main TV is a 14" portable CRT.
If you have a HD telly, you might as well get blu-ray. Get a nice surround sound system too 🙂
