My contract is up for renewal and whilst i haven't had any problems and get a reasonable speed wonder who might be worth looking at.
I have seen upto 24meg, i know this is a lie, or assume it is in the same way that i am on upto 8 and get 5. is it worth investigating?
basically reasonably cheap and lots of capacity is all i ask!

Zen are pretty good i think, 1 month contracts so you can cancel without issue if you think their shite

I use o2 who are reasonably cheap, and uncapped usage etc. Especially cheap is you are an o2 mobile customer, and my speed is reasonable (I get 6.5Mb on an '8Mb' contract.

no cable option. some of the town has been done, i think telewest/virgin got bored and can't be bothered anymore.
