anyone going to silverstone on saturday? if so what time you going? my brother thinks we should get there for 0515... wtf?
you hadn't heard about the 0530 naked girls parade then???
Not saturday, but got tickets for sunday 😀
First time for me, so not sure what the best time to get there is. As early as you can manage I guess, even more so if you've just got general admission so you can bag yourself a good spot.
don't say that, he'll want to get there at 0330!

race day is different, haven't been to silverstone for donkeys but went to spa last year, got there on race day at 0730 and couldn't get the spot we wanted but there was still plenty of room.
got there on saturday at 8 and had our pick of the best spots so why he wants to get to silverstone for 0515 is beyond me.... i might tell him to go ahead and i'll meet him there.
Theres no need to get there that early on saturday. On sunday you want to be there well before the gates open if you want a good general admission spot.
i'm already there...it's who you know that counts 😉

fncking hell, i thought my bro was keen but rd got there 3 days early! 😆
EDIT: surely if you know the right people you arrive by helicopter 30 minutes before the action starts! 😕
When I went as a kid we used to get there about 7am (set off at 5am).
Just as we were getting out of the car we used to hear the sound of the mechanics warming up the engines, by firing them up, blipping the accelerator, and then turning them off - was a good start to the day!!!
by the time you have got through the gate and had a wander round it'll be starting before you know it.
Last year arrived about 7.30 on sat and the place didn't really fill up til lunchtime, we just had general admission tickets and sat just where we wanted about 40 mins before morning practise
COME ON JENSEN!!!!!!

Me too 😆
Me too, but I live here.
I've not been for years, but I always used to park on one of the lanes about 5-6 miles away, and off the routes they used for traffic to/from the race. Bike out of the car, tootle to circuit at my leisure, lock bike under grandstand - sorted. On the way back it was fun to stay till the last support race then ride past queues of stationary Ferraris & Lambos on the way back to the car.
They've pretty much got the traffic sorted these days. Dual carriage way is increased to three lanes. There's parking for every ticket holder. Still takes a while to get in. But it's nothing like the chaos it was a few years ago.
