Dropped and smashed the last one. Looking at this one Bodum Bread Box But not sure if the bamboo lid is a bit on the thin side and might warp as per some Amazon reviews. Anyone got one and care to comment? Need one with a lid and not a roll top.
Thanks
hmmm interested.. as ours is currently in at least 5 piece but it's vaguely holding together so..
I personally don't want a tin one, and was looking for a ceramic replacement (hence five pieces), hadn't thought of plastic...
Am interested in recommendations... sad but true

I think that the most useful feature to look for is a large flat surface on the top to make it easier to stack all the good bread on top of, this allows all the old bread, part ciabattas, mouldy pittas and stale crumpets to stay in the bread bin undisturbed for several weeks between openings.
yeah bread doesn't get time to go mouldy in our household. More I forget to get the next loaf out of the freezer, as I don't see how low we are (maybe a bin with a viewing port?) and TBH I think you need a good kicking for letting a crumpet go stale (or even suggesting it)
One of my (many)shed projects is something like this -->>

Don't get the metal one from Next with the wooden lid. Whatever they've treated the lid with makes all your bread smell of petrol.
Yep, my wife bought 2 in a sale. Both bamboo lids warped in a few weeks.

Have you been in my kitchen?
Slice it, then freeze it.
Keeps it fresh, saves worktop space, eliminates need for fishing mouldy crumbs out of the bread bin every few days.
Joseph Joseph Recommend what you have, easy to clean, stores a decent amount, looks nice, if somewhat enhanced with loads of day of the dead skull stickers in my case.
Re the reviews, you lift the lid, it comes out easily, you need to oil the lid from time to time and not leave bread in it growing spores otherwise they settle into the wood obviously. Had it several years, can't see a reason I'd need to replace it ever.

+1
Thanks Toby that looks ideal. Has there been any warpage? What did you oil it with out of interest?
