Okay ... I think Costa Rica should deserve to go through as they played with everything they have. 🙂

What's the population of Costa Rica again? 4.8 million plus ...

Unlucky, CRC.

Good pens from the Dutch.

Van Gaal, tactical genius.

Holland it is!

I hope Holland goes on to win the tournament for the 1st time as the other 3 teams have won it before.

To be fair, NED should have won in normal and extra time anyway, so no one can complain. Kurd...who knew he was such a gamesmanship-like prick? Ref should have given him a yellow card.

Yeah I thought krill was a little out of order, would've pissed myself if the one of the costa Rica players gave him a push that lead to them both being sent off...

Kurd? Krill? What are you on about?

It was unsavoury, but kicking a ball into a goal from 12 yards is a foregone conclusion. Until you add the impact of pressure, and the mind games. He was seeking an advantage, which he pushed about as far as he could. I wondered if the LvG substitution was at least part mind games too, making the CR players think 'shit, a penalty saving specialist' or even just the fact he's 2" taller and fills the goal more.

Krul way to go out though. Thanks CR for brightening the tournament.

So Chelsea or Arsenal tonight then? Oops, I mean Brazil or ze Germans?

Obviously I will be supporting our BFG and Ozil and hoping Podolski comes on to score the winner! 😀

I really want a Germany V Netherlands final to hold up the European flag.

But at the same time, Brazil v Argentina in Brazil....

Be gutted if it is one South American v One European.

Ozil. The new Fellaini?

With Neymar out I can't see where the goals are going to come from. Deutschland to nick it, I reckon.

I'm going for Holland tomorrow, as thevey've looked better than Argentina. Who've been riding their luck to get this far. They've been poor, then come up with some piece of individual brilliance. Which they might do again tomorrow

So, basically... I haven't a clue

Both semis look very evenly poised.

Tonight: Brazil. The hosts deserve to be there.

Wednesday: Netherlands and I'd like to see them win the final.

@binners Churchill could have been speaking about Ozil when he made that famous quote

"is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma"

With Neymar out I can't see where the goals are going to come from. Deutschland to nick it, I reckon.

Hopefully someone can chip the keeper from the half way line.

There's no room for sentiment in this game....

I'm going to be in the Vosges over the weekend, primarily to spectate on Le Tour (and ride my bike).

Short hop across the Rhine to support the Germans in the final - please!

Would brazil miss Fred if they left him on the bench and played with 10 ?? probably have more luck scoring with neymar 🙂

What you've done there is reminded me how accurate all your previous predictions have been. That's what you've done.

Tasty.

Commentator just said the German national anthem is "Deutschland Uber Alles" - my German wife is not impressed. I told her not be such a sour kraut.

Slap! Taxi!

I'm hoping for Brazil to win this. Winning goal caused by Neuer being off his line.

Lovely cross from Özil.*

Winning goal caused by Neuer being off his line.

Won't happen, as Neuer only kept coming off his line due to Mertesacker being a bit barge like when it came to chasing back.

*He has been poor at everything else.
