I reckon Algeria's Kevin Keegan, Newcastle-era style (shit or bust, kamikaze attacking) approach to the game should make for the best entertainment

Anything involving Belgium has been spirit-crushingly tedious

Colombia vs Uruguay on Saturday. I predict a resounding victory for Colombia and a curiously toothless performance from Uruguay.

(You heard it here first)

I usually go for which ever one hasn't got Andy Townsend.

....it means I lose HD, but my ears will thank my eyes.

So what you'll be doing there Jamie, is going for the one without Andy Townsend. That's what you'll be doing. Tasty.

Naughty.

Arsebiscuits!!!! For some obscure reason we don't get ITV4. Not even through the BT box. I may be doomed to boring bloody Belgium, Townsend, with his random man of the match nominations, and bloody mushroom-head droning on like Ozzy Osbourne after a stroke!

ITV should be barred from covering sporting events until they sort this out. All that's missing to make the misery complete is for them to get Michael Owen to join, with his Marvin the Paranoid Android monotone!

My evening I'd ruined! 😥

Actually, my recent tactic, is to use the video from ITV HD, and 5Live commentary. Bit of a pain in the arse, but ooooooh so worth it.

For me, that's not a foul.

Tasty.

i noticed on the bbc matches the red button changes the audio. Not sure what the audio will be but will try it next time so I dont have to listen to Mavins brother aka philpot neville.

I still think andy townsend and griff rhys jones are related somewhow

I'm surprised ITV hasn't bought back the tactics truck for the World Cup. Just needs a lick of paint.

Awww crap. 5Live are doing the Russia game, so it's either HD and Townsend, or SD and the dulcet tones of Pat Nevin 😡

Come on Algeria. Capello's happy face is just too disturbing.

his random man of the match nominations,

i liked it when he gave it to giggs for setting up the goal that meant the current game , a replay, was played !!

This is ****ing annoying. On the main page of the BBC, nothing about tonight's games. No link or anything.

Anyway, BBC being useless aside, here's how it stands:

Jimmers, I don't have any online betting accounts...who'd be good to open one with for a few quid on accumulators for the rest of the competition?

I use Skybet at the mo, purely as it's the only one I can remember the login info for.

Any should be good, really. Some may suggest choosing one with a decent free bet offer on joining.

Although, for example with Paddy Power, you have to make a £10 first bet, and you get your 4 free £5 bets.

[img] [/img]

...although I find there is usually something in the nanoprint that means I **** it up, and don't get the free bet. Plus, of course you have to chuck a whole £10 on a bet.

I've only ever gambled once, I went to a casino and won £20, a set of cordless phones and a dinner at Nandos. After that, I felt any possible winnings would be a disappointment.

Good odds on the 1st one Jamie, I'm guessing that's mainly because you have Switzerland beating Argentina and Mexico beating holland.

Good luck.

I think the bets will all be knackered by one game going into extra time.

A couple of us pooled our few quid on the second last race for a bet on the Tote. We won what would have covered our night out in Liverpool. Yay.

What did we do in our over-excitement at winning some money? Threw it all on the nose of a horse in the last. He didn't even place. Boo.

POSTED 2 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I'll have £5 on him not falling down there and Molgrips car breaking down in the next week.

IMO bet365 have had the better odds for world cup matches this tournament, at least for the teams I've fancied.
But Ladbrokes have been doing daily specials where set selections have had boosted odds , that have been better than any available by just combining, but they've not always matched the teams I wanted. Worth a look and best odds if the teams you want correspond to the "boosted acca".

More importantly, don't go opening multiple accounts with loads of bookies.
Loads do "free bet sign ups" that can be worth quite a few quid but are only ever available once to new members. You'd "waste" that free money by just opening loads of accounts, you may fancy cashing it some time in the future through "matched betting", or maybe just leave it to next year and take some new account free bets at Rugby World Cup time. 🙂

Top website that lets you see who has the best odds , and special offers:

True , counts as a draw at FT.
Hills do money back on 6+ acca if one result lets you down. Might be what you want.

Why not turn up on every beer thread and warn about the dangers of alcoholism ?

They appreciate your concern and they will be carefull

Handy to know. Although, I only bet £4 over 4 bets, so not the end of the world.
