I remember seeing a topic a while back re this but can't find it. So if people don't mind adding their recommendations again that would be good. Am not looking for anything fancy like Mumtaz?? But for those who know Manchester something along the lines of This n That. A good home cooked feel.

Ta

My recommendation was for The Punjab up Lister Hills Road or The karachi above the ice rink. Alot of people will rave about the kashmir, but the food there is average IMO.

The Sweet Centre on Lumb lane, Manningham, used to be good when we went out b4 kids. Mumtaz isn't fancy tho, good food by the 1/4 or 1/2lb, Aagraa (sp?) also to be depended on and Nawaab is a good one.

I was in the Sweet Centre a few weeks ago, it's still good.

the kashmir was always the place to go before/after gigs at the 1in12 club for us back in the early-mid 90s, but last time i went there (probably around 2002 or so) it was a bit of a letdown.
and for reference, i'm a this'n'that fan...

I used to like the Bharat - only a 3 star curry according to the guide though. I wasn't that impressed with Mumtaz.

We went back to Bradford again last weekend after a gap of a few years. So we popped in to the Karachi at midday and it was just as good as ever. Chicken & Vegetable for Mrs BJ and Meat Spinach Karhai for me.

We first started going there in 1973 and it was reassuringly all familiar. I think one of the guys has been there most of that time. It used to cost us 25p, now it's £5.50.

Half way through hers, Mrs BJ said "can we come here on Monday?" Well, it was only a 40 mile detour, and now we've got a freezer full of it.

Set your satnav for 15-17 Neal St Bradford, BD5 0BX. Open every day from 11am to 2am.
