I used to drink every day, copiously, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment..
I gave up a few years back when my health started deteriorating..

I went out for a few last night to celebrate a mates birthday.. feel like death now.. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

It's not just the alcohol, there is a lot of other crud in there, preservatives etc. I find that the nicer (more expensive, generally) the wine, the less potent the hangover.

Or maybe I just drink less of it !

I used to enjoy a couple of beers, maybe 5 or 6 pints at the weekend. I had 5 the other night for a colleagues leaving do and hungover for 2 days.

Booze and running 60 miles a week doesn't mix

brew your own, then you know exactly what's in it.

barley, water, hops & yeast. that's it.
added benefit is you can make your own recipe exactly how you want it & it will invariably taste better than the commercially available beers.

Granted, it doesn't stop the hangover if you really do drink too much, but there's a much lower risk of a hangover from two or three pints than from some commercial brews

I used to find that Becks did less damage than most.

Reinheitsgebot - German beer purity law, means that they can't put all that crap in it.
Possibly apocryphal story of football world cup in Germany, with Budweiser being a main sponsor but not being able to be sold due to Reinheitsgebot.

It's at the acceptable end of drug addiction, a lot of people positively encourage it.

I am currently in possession of a very grumpy/depressed husband as he has a hangover and feels like he's achieved nothing this weekend (he hasn't). I've conned him into believing that if he makes me a roast dinner the satisfaction he'll get for achieving something will wipe away his post booze blues ๐Ÿ™‚ So far it's not helping him but he is cooking.

I'm currently in possession of a nice cold beer. It's like anything I suppose, over do it on the bike and you'll fall off and probably hurt yourself. A load of beers when you're not used to handling them will also result in an injury no doubt! I do hate hangovers tho!!!!!

You might find him getting hammered and hung over every weekend now.

I'm not too sure this is true. After just getting back from the pub and spilling a cup of tea all over me and the laptop, I'm not too sure about the strength thing.

That's just your body telling you it didn't want any caffeine!

1 week off. A strong rum hits the spot.

If I did 6 pints I would suffer.

Overconsumption of anything is bad in life.
