No news of Mr Consequence since the thread disappeared...

I know for a fact he'd share his displeasure with this...

Surely 'philconsequence' hasn't been banned for the video, has he?

Surely it's just common sense to filter the s and p words?
I quite liked it when they inserted "crikey" (or was it "cripes"?) in place of the offending word. Used to make me chuckle.

That was quite amusing. Didn't always work but when it did it was ace.

EDIT - Stoner, does that mean I have to eat noodles? Yeeeeuch, but I'll try. 🙂

We are entering a new era of full disclosure and openness on the web. The internet demands the whole truth.

Anonymous would not be happy at all this censorship!

Well it seems that yes, Phil is banished.

As a sign of my outrage I'm not going to post anything for at least as long as it takes me to drive home and take a trip round the supermarket.

While the content of the vid may have been Ok ( But I doubt it ) the usual suspects came out with the usual misogyny and leching that is at best distasteful.

If you want to look at women with few clothes on and leer at them then I do believe their are sites for that sort of thing.

I think the censorship of the swearing has gone too far but I can only applaud the way they got rid of the leching.

But there's no nurse in any video.
Theres a rather attractive young lady who used to practice as a nurse, but no pole dancing nurse.

The video was introduced as someone who phil did his nurse training with, and therefore it is reasonable to use the term in reference.

If you are going to attempt to argue at least put some effort in.

If you'd read what phil had said you'd notice the fact that she was travelling around the world promoting pole dancing and not putting the nessacery hours in to remain a practicing nurse, therefore an ex nurse.
Is that enough reason to call her an ex nurse. I used to fit carpets but i haven't fitted one for a couple of years now, does that still make me a carpet fitter or an ex carpet fitter?

Really, how long did you think a video of a pole dancing ex-nurse was going to last, given the activity of the mods this week?

Pretty dumb timing if nothing else.

Yes Dear.

As I said above, the initial reference was to her relationship with phil, which included the fact that she had trained as a nurse, therefore, and I'll type it r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w-l-y so you get it, it is reasonable to refer to her in those terms.

The video was cool, it was not erotic or even mild titillating. It was enlightening in the same way that a non bike rider might find a Danny Macaskill video enlightening.

The dancer was wearing athletic clothing not dissimilar to those that you would see on the the start line of the women's 100metres.

I honestly saw nothing wrong with the video. For anyone that didn't see it it was closer to cirque du soleil (in sportswear) than it was to Spearmint Rhino.

My god she was strong. As an example of a highly trained athlete she was exemplary. As an example of a sexist or leery spectacle, she was nothing of the sort.

muppetWrangler; TBH chap, your (or mine, or any poster's) opinion of that video is largely irrelevant.

Pole dancing has one connotation in our society, and that's pretty much the start, middle and end of it, and as I said earlier, given the activity of the mods this week, the timing was at best ill advised, and at worst; clearly baiting...It was only ever going to end one way.

There are sites where I'm sure you can find other Pole dancers, clothed, or otherwise. 😉

nickc, after seeing that video my thoughts on pole dancing changed and that is as good a reason as any for it to have remained viewable.

The woman featured in the video was as far removed from pole dancings undoubtedly seedy origins as the heavyweight champion of the world is distanced from a Saturday night punch up in a pub car park. How can opinion ever be changed if were not allowed to have our preconceptions challenged?

Her prop was a steel pole, had she done a similar act using a length of material suspended from the rafters I doubt anybody would have raised any objections, and she'd probably already be booked for the Royal Variety performance.

Its a great pity that people cannot see how and why the video is not suitable for this site and that it would clearly lead ( as it did) to misogynistic leering and leching.

Pole exercise is really big business now. Loads of clubs out there catering for both sexes and all ages. You need to be strong, flexible and have great body tension to do the workouts well.

errrm, I agree with muppetWrangler as to the content of the video.

My mind was for want of better expression thinking how much fun you could have with her. But I don't really see that as being bad or any different to all those women who 😳 when Linford Christie used to run the 100 meters.

It does seem that there are some guys that need to accept that blokes like sex. So do women. And that to some extent we all objectify the opposite sex as we consider the genes that they may pass to our offspring or just simply how much you'd enjoy... well, you know. 😉

Is it really that bad to say it?

I can accept people like sex. My problem, and I assume the mods as well, is the lecherous and misogynistic way this is often displayed. That video that was posted was fine to me, it was the comments that came later which is the problem. It was getting to a point where any post about a female would almost certainly steer off into 'hanging out the back of', 'banging their back doors in' etc territory.

Just seemed a bit crass.

The swearing filter nonsense on the other hand is just stupid tho.

Out of interest Jamie which sort of comments? I know the explanation of why the thread was removed. I'd just like to know whether or not my comments are ones that offend you and ultimately get threads removed, therefore allowing me to modify my behaviour.

It's not bad to say it, its not bad to look.
It's pathetic and juvenile to use the aesthetic and althletic, black and white tastefully filmed excuse when it was ultimately about titillation.
Yes, lots of people may do pole dancing classes, but if you want people to watch, it helps to be sexually attractive, and to be able to stretch that tight white underwear.
Not appropriate for here.

Much as I like to have a dig at Jamie, I couldn't agree more with the above.

What a pile of poo the whole swearing thing is too. I suspect an advertiser has a problem with something. Only money could motivate such Puritanism.

Also, I've noticed an increase in female posters recently correlated with a clampdown on sexism and misogyny. I could be imagining things of course.

Thanks to TJ, nickc and crikey for the above. Of course I agree wholeheartedly with them.

It's beginning to resemble a playground here, a sleazy one though. Some threads can be quite demeaning to women and, yes, I'm well aware that some women demean themselves. I'm not a feminist, I've been on this Forum a good few years but this stuff is just so immature.

Women have been reasonably accepted on here and, indeed, we sometimes get asked for our opinions on 'what bike for the missus' etc. I feel we add to the general bonhomie and long may it continue.

It has been mentioned that there's been an increase in female posters. They will surely disappear after all this nonsense. Your loss.

Please ... if you want to look at this kind of stuff ... go elsewhere.

Thank you.
