I bought a bike at a discount (£1000 off) is it illegal to insure it for the full, listed amount?

I would have thought not, as thats what a replacement would cost you

Its irrelevent what you paid, it'll be what its worth/cost-to-replace when its stolen that you are 'offered'.
No different to cars, m/c's etc
