Bought a pie dish thats big - 8 inches diameter/ 6 inches deep.

But ... cannot think of a pie to fill it owing to depth of filling to CRUST/ mash/ topping ratio ....

Any suggestions now we're getting into PIE weather ?

current favourite of mine is chicken, bacon and mushroom with sage and mustard (just a bit) in the sauce. yum.

or there is always the classic beef and ale (if you want to take up more room in your pie dish and make it uber tasty at the same time, stick some butternut squash in with the beef).

Just make sure it's a real pie, and not a casserole with a pastry hat on

fishermans pie.

No pastry - like a shepherds pie but with fish

That's what we're having for tea in the Big G household tonight.

A Lancashire hotpot sounds ideal for that size of dish. Make sure you put some black pudding in it though.

HOTPOT - thats a good idea I'm going to try.

Maybe followed by some huge fruit filled bruiser the following week.

I get hungry just looking at it - empty ... 😆
