Err by following the instructions on the BBC website and within the iPlayer software itself? Remember not all programmes are available for download, some can only be streamed e.g. Heros

Well I have been for ages. The player might be in beta still I'm not sure and the quality isn't quite as good as the old PC version but it's plenty good enough.

There's a version of iPlayer working in Safari Mobile (iPhone) as well these days.

Not really spooky deadlydarcy, it's the first thing on the BBC worth firing up iPlayer for in aaaaaaaaages (apart from cbeebies stuff for little people).

Hi guys, I would actually like to download the file onto my laptop, I thought this was not possible directly through iplayer? If it is I cannot see the link to do it.

With the original iPlayer it wasn't possible as it was built around Windows media player. The new one is flash based, I think, and will work on many more operating systems.

The first thing you to do is to sign up and download the flash player itself. Once that is installed you'll be able to download programs via your web browser. There should be some instructions somewhere on the BBC site but I can't access the iplayer part of the BBC site from work so I can't be more specific.
