Just about to go off on holiday to Corsica again on Friday and was wondering where is best right now for changing money, only getting 1.09 euro to the pound from the post office, someone said Marks & Spencer was worth a look, any others?

M&S and Tesco are currently about the same for their currency rates.

Check out Martin Lewis's website.

It's got a pages that give up to date exchange rates plus how much commission they charge.

Do it at the airport, or use cash machines when you go into a city/town. Pay for as much as you can by debit or credit card so you do not need so much cash

There was an article on the BBC a couple of weeks ago. They bought $500 and €500. There was nearly £50 difference between the best and the worst (for each currency). The worst were the airports!!!!!

Using a debit card is fine as long as you don't mind paying up to £3 per transaction. Not bad if you're getting a couple of hundred £'s out, but not worth it for a meal.

If you have time, get an Abbey or Post office credit card. They don't charge for using them abroad.

Read Martins web site, it explains it all!

DO NOT change your money by just turning up at the airport. With Travelex, for example, they have poor exchange rates AND charge comission.

However, if you prebook your currency with Travelex, you get a better rate AND no comission. So book and pay online and pick up and airport. Make sure they're at the airport you travel from... some people have made that mistake 😳

Travlex near the top of the Travel Money Maximiser. Possibly the best if depending on amount and if you can't pick up form Thomas Cook in West London.
