i wondered if they would treat it with more care as the ycan see it is a bike and the forks and pedals will do some damage to other boxes

Doubt that is the rationale of the person who posted though.

perhaps a postie could answer?

I sometimes think putting 'Fragile' on a box is viewed as a challenge by some.

Just realised it looks like my cat is sellotaped to the front.

Is it undamaged? That is an amazing bit of packing.

I had a motorbike engine, in bits, posted to me in a wooden fruit crate once. Half the crate and about 1/3d of the engine made it to the destination.

There is a certain logic that says if they can see what it is, they don't have to guess what will break.

My dad ordered a golf club online a while back and it came in a clear plastic bag with an address label on it.
If they can see what it is, they know how to treat it/ where to put it/ what not to put on top of it etc.

I ordered a pair of Thule cycle carriers and a field cannon. Raised an eyebrow in the office post room!

mrs_oab and I had some sillyness back at uni, posting all sorts through with just stamp and address on - such as banana's or a slipper. All of it made it through.

[Missing bearings oddly enough, both races were still in place from the grease! ...but at a glance it all seems ok! Leaving test until forks & finishing kit arrive in a separate delivery.

Can't wait to see how they're packaged. Maybe in cling film & tin foil?
