I am currently using justcloud as a backup for my pc, all my documents, videos, photos, music etc and have just had my renewal come through....£171!!! What are people using to backup their PC hard drives? Require 1TB (currently 890GB stored) and have seen 2TB at Knowhow for £20/yr, any experiences of that?

I'm using crashplan home. It's unlimited for about $60 a year or you can get their family deal for $150, 10 devices.

Their client is a bit heavy in terms of resource usage though. I do have 3-4 TB stored though.

Don't go for OneDrive. I signed up for an Office365 subscription, so it felt like I was getting OneDrive for free. But even for 'free' it feels like a rip off. Full of bugs and slow as heck. I'll move back to Dropbox when my subscription ends.

Apple offer lots of data storage for very little, if you can make your back-up solution work with it, I've never tried.

1Tb is $9.99 a month.

I use Dropbox, Google Drive, and One Drive (as part of 365). Don't have any complains about One Drive, no better or worse than the others IMO on a Mac. The only one I really have any trouble with is the Google Drive client.

I've been looking for something similar over the last couple of weeks - I want a cloud service to back up my NAS to, with the idea that I'll back up my PC, photos etc to the NAS, and from there to the cloud.

Reading reviews, it looks like idrive might be worth checking out. Anyone any experience with it, or similar?

Ive tried a couple of dirrenet ones and still with Dropbox

Tried One Drive as I got is for free with Office 365. Problem is that it doesn't accept file names with certain characters. It therefore, didn't copy lots of my files to the cloud. I think there were a couple of thousand I would have had to rename!!

iCloud Drive would be good but there is no way to check if a file has been copied up to the cloud. I work on 2 computers, home and work and use the cloud to sync file between them. With ICloud drive it is very easy to shut your computer down at the end of the day before a saved file has been uploaded. Thre is just no way to know what it's doing in the background.

So back to using Dropbox. Works as i need it to and you have an icon to tell you when it is syncing. The only issue is that it seems to slow my machine down loads when it is syncing. Once syncing is over it seems to sit in the background not using up any resource.

Been using one drive for all my work computers and home and has been faultless and simple.

Will likely be changing the work ones to a UK based firm for compliance reasons. Slight hi-jack, anyone use a UK based cloud service?

Google drive would be my pick. I use iCloud due to my Apple habit, but the Google option is best I've found of the big players.

I'm using the cheapest I could find.
It's called Hubic - massively cheaper than others.

I haven't had to recover anything yet, which is the measure of a backup service I guess. The software sits there and monitors any files for changes and synchronises.

(I also have local backup).
