Hello All,

It's been a couple years since I was last here.  I wonder who's still around. Is Cougar still in charge?

Anyway, my wife just had a baby boy, luckily it's mine and we're starting that new adventure.

I actually returned on the back of Sudocrem Cat Nostalgia, check my privilege, so how was your first child, first week, first month experience?

I'll go read the Brexit thread while I anticipate the mirth. What tyres for buggies etc?

Chris.

No, Woppit's taken over. 🙂

Junkyard has gone on holiday like Beano characters used to.

Mark has revealed himself to be a silvery-tongued demon and the subscriptions  are through the roof - really a feeling of a ‘community’ right now.

Kryton has given up driving.

Binners won the lottery and has bought McDonalds and Pornhub. We’re expecting great things.

Jamie has joined a cult that renounces anything computerised and took up sewing; there’s a thread on it somewhere.

Perchypanther got sued by the estate of Bob Monkhouse. Apparently he’s now  serving thyme for herbitual criminality.

Edukator is still an arse.

Congratulations OP. Sleep and eat whenever the opportunity presents itself. Our first was a nightmare, very ill for a long time. The new one, seven months now, is like a beginner baby! Just smiles, laughs, sleeps and throws things. She actually sleeps better than number one who’s now four.

Just enjoy every minute with them. I forgot how nice it is just to have your baby fall asleep on you. My favourite thing 😀

Congratulations! My own small_fiat#3 also turned up a couple of weeks ago.

Yep treasure this time, it goes pretty quick as you all get used to the upheaval of a new arrival. I myself just went back to work after taking 2 weeks of paternity leave. The shock of work on monday was actually more difficult to deal with than the arrival of the small bundle of attention grabbing fun.

I picked up two good pieces of info along the way with the other two: 1 bath them in deeper & warmer water than you'd think - they love to float, mine would even go to sleep in the bath with me just supporting their heads. Magical; 2 it gets easier - every day is just slightly better, more fun, more entertaining, less exhausting.

It's an interesting return as this place salved many years of early 20's wholesale despair at the entire misanthropic misery inherent in being alive.

Then I got married and it got better.

Now I'm a dad and what reason is there left to indulge in nihilism? None.

Glad to hear the tide of community is back in, I lurked a bit last year and it was just people with Boardmans shouting at each other. The bike forum can whistle for it's sins but this side should be a welcome solace.

FinniMORE is a daysleeper. Which takes me to my first quiz: What five songs would you choose that reminds you of your first child? In no particular order, I have

1. Bridge Over Troubled Water-Acoustic, Garfunkel and Paul.

2. You've Got A Friend- Carole King

3. Bowie- Kooks

4. Ray Lamontagne- Shelter

5. Blow Your Trumpets, Gabriel -Behemoth 🙂

Sk8er Boi, Avril Lavigne

Gay bar - Electric 6

Best song in the world - Tenacious D

No-one knows - QOTSA

Can't think of number 5, but these were my daughters favorite songs when little. I think she liked the hamsters in the Gay Bar video. 😲

edit - oh aye, contrats and all that.

Awrite Chris. I saw Mrs F's post post last week... We were due for number 2 last Tues but still no show.

It would have been funny to bump into each other in hospital.

Anyway, do you have my number? If not, get Mrs F to msg me on FB. I can share some dad tips!

Downie.

Save a 6th spot on that list for Joe Cocker’s, soon to be released, single. I hear it’s gonna be a belter.

Used to get Funk Jr to sleep by playing or singing Neil Young's Out On The Weekend. He used to dance to Mungo's Hi-Fi versus Prince Fatty (whole album), loves the Clutch song Psychic Warfare, Nathaniel Rateliffes SOB and Katie Perry's Roar because there's a tiger in the video.c
