[Closed] Bedford

Hello,
There is a lady here who has to relocate for 1 year due to her husband’s job to Bedford (the town) and wants to know what it is like? Is the town ok are there nice areas outside commutable in? I could not tell her as i only know areas west of London.

Hmmmm

Well, it's halfway between Cambridge and Milton Keynes, so you have a decent choice for shops or, as my wife puts it: Posh shops and Ikea.

Geography-wise, it's fairly flat, but you do have Chicksands quite close if you like 4x, dual and a few hills. There's also Box End cable just round the corner for when you want to get a bit of wakeboard action.

As for the town itself, I can't really comment. I think it's pretty much "generic town", but with a river going through it. Canoeing/kayaking is an option if you like touring.

I've only ridden through it while being assesed by the DSA ( their training and development center is in Cardington, just outside ) and I thought it was quite a picturesque place...
