Anyone else struggling to get into a server tonight? (Xbox)

Managed a couple of rounds of TDM earlier to get the hang of things (first timer on a console), but can't get anywhere near a game of Conquest or Rush.

Yeah gave up trying multiplayer in the end. Campaign & co-op very good though!

In-game server browser isn't making life any easier, it seems it's the one thing guaranteed to be not working with new releases.

You'd have thought it would be relatively straightforward by now.

I was sad enough to stay up for the midnight launch. I had a 50 minute delay to get activated after pre-loading it from Origin. Not massively impressed.

My x4 955, ati 9850, seemed to cope with the high graphics setting no problem, and the bit of single player I played seemed good, although so far it seems to be a series of set peices and quick time events

What kind of multiplayer options are there? Is there Co-op stuff or is it all jump-in-and-get-blown-apart-every-couple-of-seconds-by-a-teenager-somewhere type stuff?

Loving it on the PC but it's a bit overwhelming with detail when you first play.

I cannot wait to get a sign off from the FD so I can purchase this!! Loved the first two and was (quite sad really) once ranked in the top 20000 on the first one!! 😆

right you lot seems to know what you are on about.... i loved COD WAW not really into all the modern stuff... BUT...... is the best bit of BF the fact you can get 3 mates and then do missions online rather than just running round like a headless chickens (COD)?

i hope that makes sense...

Multiplayer is better with mates on your team as well! 4 player co-op sounds fun.

With a good graphics card the pc version is immense. Had a go at the multiplayer at my mates house and it frustrated the hell out of me. 👿

I need a fancy graphics card in my life!

The multiplayer on the last two was awesome! When I got the first it took me a while to get into it but if you really wanna geek it up, get the headset on and talk to your team mates! I've played all the cods and still think bfield is better. All on xbox by the way! Suppose it's the same as the FIFA/pro evo divide

Cheers KS - i've just used that code to get £8 off a MW3 pre-order at ASDA! Accessed it via my Quidco account so the game should only cost £31, happy times.

Only done a couple of evenings of multi-player so far but it's good fun. The unlocks look like taking waaaay more time than CoD though with different tracking for each class and vehicle. I prefer the bigger conquest maps personally, gives it the epic feeling the BF series is best at rather than the close-in stuff that CoD does better IMO.

Need to read up on the squad stuff and spotting etc. to but chances are most of that's ignored playing with randoms rather than a clan.

Not figured out why people get abuse for manning anti-air for ages either, doesn't seem OP to me and choppers do a lot of damage if left alone...

Totally annoyed at the spotting that (isn't) going on! great game though. Anti air is critical to suppress helicopters/air. otherwise you end up with the helo's circling the spawn points (sad, but true)

Spotting is ok but on the hardcore servers they need to remove the autospot on the mini map just becase you fire.d

finally got it and had a couple of games

slightly disappointed so far as they seem to have really toned down the destruction compared to bad company 2...that was one of my favourite bits!

still looks a good game though so will be getting plenty of playtime

There's loads more, BC2 was only specific buildings and fences. In BF3 it's nearly everything you can use to access building quicker or get around enemies. When half a Paris apartment block falls down in front of you it's impressive.

My tuppence worth 🙂
The game is great but more like a larger version of bfbc2 than bf2 so that was a bit of a disappointment, also in the disappointing stakes is the lack of servers to practise flying, stunt flying and the like on 🙁
You can join an empty server but you cannot move therefore cant fly/walk/drive so its a bit pointless.Hopefully somebody will mod it soon,or perhaps EA might take this issue on board and patch it in.
flying-
Havent tried the jets yet but the heli's are pretty easy to fly.anti air is top notch so unlike bf2 the jets arent way overpowered and you have a chance to survive longer 😆
Weapons-
Good mix of old[bf2] and modern[bfbc2] Claymores are back as is prone. Those not use to 'prone' with engage in a ten second steep learning curve upon entering their first game 😆

For me its a bit annoying as the squad system is still a bit hit-miss with everybody basically doing their own thing and a huge amount of camping yet totally blind noobs 😡
(PC version)
