Went out to get my bike from the shed and saw something out the corner of my eye.. Proceeded to be transfixed for the next ten mins or so as 2 bats circled above in a kind of figure of 8. It reminded me of butterflies courting, not sure if bats do that in flight? After a few mins another bat joined the party which caused a bit of a dog fight and ended up with all three going their separate ways.
Not sure if it was bat lovin going on or just some random flying but either way it was pretty cool to witness 🙂

Probably Pipistrelles, could you hear any sound from them? It's the season of bat lovin at the moment and males sing at quite low frequencies (for a bat) to attract females.
