OK, it could be me...
But 6 times over the last year I've had my card blocked while trying to pay bills, buy forks etc on the Internet. It seems prone to false alarms.

Yeah it is annoying...anything over £500 and I phone Barclaycard first or I know it'll get refused. What bugs me is that when you get the automated call from the fraud section, if you pass the questions it unblocks your card as opposed to confirming the transaction is legit so you then have to go and re-do the whole transaction again. Still better than the hassle and potential cost of getting scammed which has happened to me in the past.
Also get annoyed by that Barclaycard registration screen that pops up on some online sites asking you to register
Have been having all sorts of nonsense with barclaycard recently, on my 2nd new card this year already. Are all card companies this bad?
yep, complete PITA. That verified by visa thing is a ballache too, wish I'd never accepted that.
Egg - great card with the Visa verification to help prevent fraud. Never had an issue in many years of international transactions.
They are VERY bad and have a rotten call centre that can hardly understand what you are saying. I find mastercard better. At least they have UK call centre..
