The car park outside where i live is on a slight slope and covered in ice,its also sheltered, from the sun, should i tomorrow get some grit/salt from the grit bin at top of car park and spread over car park,to be a good neighbour, theres a few older people live here and a few who will moan if its,not done, even though they could do it themselves.
grit it or forever wallow in guilt....slide around on your bike on it first tho 😀
I went and bought a big bag of salt and spread it all over the paths and steps outside our building
If you can make the time to scatter some grit then do it. Wouldn't have thought it would take more than 15 mins or so and might avoid an accident for you or one of your neighbours. Broken hip?
It'll help your older neighbours and if you don't do it you'll be one of the people who could have done it but didn't.
Hand brake turns first. Then grit it. Me and copper at the end are the only buggers who grit and clear our road. It's because we're the only "working class" in the street I reckon.
Being a good neighbour you should, but don't bother, each to his own risk and one persons risk is anothers fun. Just offer to get shopping in for the elderly 😀
Maybe it's because I'm able to control my car and legs and as yet have not slipped up on an un-gritted road/pavement, but people who grit as good neighbours cheese me off - I like it slippery!
And since when did gritting the roads become a class thing, jesus no wonder there's supposedly a class war going on, some of us can't stop trying to find the differences!
It appears that nobody wants to do it ,as theyre afraid it may well become their job, or theyre afraid of geting sued.
The local counncil appear to think the same,as they havent gritted anything either, only their car parks so they can get money in.
As above - Handbrake turns, then a j turn, then grit it - post pics of the J turn results
