new computer. Windows 10 using Chrome.

on my old computer, well, just about every computer i've ever had, you could navigate to previous page using the Backspace button regardless of browser.

now it tells me to use alt & left key which is awkward whewn using one hand..... (have a keyboard with a mouse pad to the left and it usully sits on the chair beside me when not typing...)

any way to fix this?

Google decided that it was a stupid idea* and turned it off.

* I don't know why.

Chrome plug-in to satisfy one-handed browsers the world over. What are you doing with your other hand or do you have only one?

I was annoyed when they turned it off, but in fact it got rid of that infuriating problem where if the site was written badly, or you clicked out of the text box, and then hit the backspace, you lost everything as the page went backwards.

I quickly got over it when I started using the two finger trackpad gestures to navigate forwards and backwards. Much easier 🙂

And nine times out of ten (actually probably more), if you click forwards you get everything back again. You can usually close and reopen Chrome and be returned to your edit intact, even.

But 1 time out of 10, you lose everything! Especially when filling out a large form...
