So I'm back in hospital this morning having woken up again in AF. Likely to have my heart shocked back into normal rhythm at some point today. Upside is that hot nurse thinks I'm 35, not 44.

Was due to accept a new job today. Oh well...

part of the process these days, grandad - so much cheaper than a treadmill stress test 😉

I've already had good conversations with Ton! This will be my third cardioversion and I'm scheduled to have an ablation in the next few months.

My cousin in his mid 40's suffers from AF. He still leads a completely normal life and rides his bike lots.

Do you need a pacemaker of some sort?

I don't believe so. The doctors think they can fix it permanently (same procedure Ton had). I've done 170k over the last 6 days but woke at 4.45am back in AF

a pacemaker is no good, reason being, the heart has to be in the correct pattern, and the pacemaker then keeps it there.

and good luck howarthp...........everything crossed for you mate.

It can be even better on the nurse front. When they tell you you're young and slim!! It seems that prostate problems happen to the old and fat.

^^^^ very true sandwich. I'm too young to even be on the prostate charts 🙄
