So this is the Beeb's new Saturday night adventure thing is it? 5 mins in and all I could think is 'what's Steve Punt doing in the Life of Brian'?. Did the critics love it?

i was so drunk I forgot I watched it til I saw the pic of Jason above, and now have a vague recollection of Hercules, a minotaur and lots of corny one liners....

I enjoyed it. Very much in the way of Merlin and Robin Hood. Good fun.

I think that's where it smacks of the Marmite effect. I really can't be bothered with cheesy "historical" series like these even though I'm fascinated by the subject matter. Would prefer something darker myself. Can see why others watch/follow them religiously though.

Strangely I think the protagonist looks like they mixed some Benedict Cumberbatch DNA with Merlin's DNA and grew themselves a new actor. I have so far watched about 30 mins of the first episode. Given I was debating whether I could be bothered to finish it, I'm not sure it's any good.
