Sorry wrong forum

I bought an Iphone today sim free from Argos
I later found out sim free is not the same as unlocked, it doesn't state this in their catalogue. It actually locks to the network of first sim card insertion, This is no use to me really as I use more than one network
When I tried to return it they have refused saying I was told this when I bought it. Unfortunately I want told anything of the sort though sales lady did mention

Their protection insurance for £7.99 , month

Would I like to buy a screen protector?

Would I like to take out one of their buy now pay later schemes?

Would I like to apply for their 0% credit card

That was it upon my return they said it's clearly written on the receipt it's exempt from 30 day return...it doesn't, so they changed story to say it's in their smallprint

I bought it on a credit card what are my next steps?

Return it as faulty for a full refund, statutory rights and all that stuff, had to use that a few times,at other retailers, but argos are usually great about returns, perhaps its becuse theyre getting sold to sainsburys or a south african co who are going to close a lot of stores.

Their website says

*Products exempt from 30 day money back guarantee

Sorry, but there are a few items we can't accept returns on such as large kitchen appliances, food products and some jewellery items - unless of course these are faulty, or otherwise don't conform to the contract. These are identified in the catalogue or at argos.co.uk, if in doubt, give us a ring or pop into store and speak to a member of staff. Naturally none of this affects your consumer rights, see below/our full terms and conditions for more details.

Looking at their SIM free iPhones, can't see anything about them being exempt from this, so go back to the store and make a nuisance of yourself

Which network is it now locked to? Depending on this it might be easier to just get it unlocked than to return it.

It isn't locked to any we never put a sim in it after reading unless you buy it from the apple store it's not unlocked, however making an ass out of u and me and assume sim free meant the same as every blackberry or Nokia I ever owned, It would be simple to swap even the store manager said if she bought one she would expect to be able to swap sims

On top of this if she rings three to get an unlock code it's 15 quid and they aren't subsidising the handset

Wait until it's fairly busy at the returns desk and don't take no for an answer. Argos have always come good for me this way and bent their own rules.

I'm always perfectly pleasant and only want a reasonable solution.
