I've just been refused permanent health insurance - the income protection cover, not to be confused with Bupa etc for a second time due to being diagnosed with occasional AF 5 years ago. It's very frustrating as the specialist said I am not at risk and nothing needed doing unless it got worse - which it hasn't. I'm self employed and my wife's wages don't come close to coving the mortgage so I feel that I need some sort of income protection cover is needed and would be willing to have AF excluded from a the cover but their not interested,
Has anyone with AF managed to get PHI or similar?
bosh (I'm interested too)
not a cats chance.. i ve had mixed health experiences all of which the outcome has been positive and has no impact going forward.. however write down stroke heart attack artificial valves and your labelled by EVERYONE as sick/sickly/on deaths door..
can get life insurance but when offered the premiums were HUGE.. no obscene. holiday insurance is possible but again the costs are prohibative.
the greatest irony was that my last employer would not even offer me a job interview for my role due to my ill health..
