I'm looking at a long weekend's boarding from London with the GF.
I had thought about driving to a Massif Central resort overnight as they're cheap, reasonably close and beautiful but having someone else do the driving might be a lot nicer! I don't really need huge terrain for 3 days on the slopes.
Any reviews or other ideas?

I used to have a few mates who worked for them. I got the impression that they weren't cheap holidays but the service was very good. They tended to pick drivers/reps who were reasonably mature and responsible, and a lot of their punters were professionals with well-paid jobs who really loved their skiing. There seemed to be a very good atmosphere on their holidays, we hardly ever skied with guests because we weren't paid to and they tended to whinge/expect you to wait for them/guide them etc. A lot of the Ski Weekend ones were very independent-minded, laid back and good fun, and the reps enjoyed skiing with them.

Anywhere in the Northern Alps, Flaine, Portes du Soleil, La Clusaz, would make a good weekend, its hard to reccommend much without a budget etc. Chamonix can be a very good weekend as the town is quite lively and the skiing is good and very scenic. You need to travel to get to the hill and it doesn't have miles of joined-up motorways but a good rep will point you in the right direction.

Cheers for the info 😀
Sounds like a good option I think. My budget is just over £200 for travel and accom P/P which I could beat with 4 in a car but not just the two of us.

Used them about 6 timers in last 3 years.

Gotta disagree with Shandy, they are definitley the budget end of the market, however, you get great value for money.

I take it for £200 you are going for a coach package? I think they now do two destinations via coach, 3 Valleys and Chamonix.

Personally have only done 3 Valleys on the coach. The accomodation they use is in Brides Les Bains, a spar town down the mountain. The town is absolutely dead at night. You have to catch the Olympic gondola up to Meribel, this is a half hour jouney, realistically you will not be skiing until 09:45, at the end of the day the last Gondola down is 5pm. The hotel they use 'Club Versau' is I believ owned by ski weekends, probably rates 2 stars and the food is rather basic.

One problem I have heard of though have been lcuky not to experience is if the coach gets stuck in London traffic and misses the Chunnel slot you may not get to resort until midday as opposed to the breakfast time arrival in the brochure.

All that said the weekends offer excellent value for money for minimal time off work (presuming you are London based)
