Hospital confirmed I have a furred up artery in my left leg which has been causing cramp like symtoms in calf and loss of feeling in my foot.
The have said its one of those things and and will do a bypass or a procedure to open up the artery but only in certain circumstances. Now its only affecting me when exercising and its fine when doing day to day stuff, but I live to ride and struggle @ just plodding along and not going for it.Now do I lie that its effecting just walking around and hindering my job?quality of life, been suffering for over a year now not be able to do big events like the Keilder 100 for a 2nd year is getting depressing.
If you have suffered the same and had a op how did it turn out?

Ooh - tough one there.
TBH - on almost all 'referral criteria' you can use the term "severely affecting quality of life" to override most other factors. This doesn't mean your doctor should take the pi$$, but if it really does affect your sport/hobby, to ME that would be enough to refer for intervention.
I take it you're on aspirin/clopidogrel?
DrP
Dr P
Only taking pain killers when doing events or long rides. 46 year old perfect weight 12 st 5ft 10.
Been unwell with a virus for the last 3 months but fine now, had loads of blood/stool tests blood pressure fine and heart/liver/kidneys in good health
Obviously one can't make a 'true diagnosis' over the internet, but if you've had tests confirming cramping (claudication) IS due to arterial problems (?? angiogram) then really a low dose aspirin should be discussed/suggested by the GP.
For these problems - exercising through the pain is recommended.
You don't smoke do you?
DrP
Dr P None smoker , will be speaking to the consultant soon so will be able to see where we go from there.
