am going to have an operation on 25th may. just wondering what to expect (never had an operation before).

am nervous about it i have to admit, but i want rid of the ****ing things once and for all as they have added greatly to my depression (and have stopped me riding my bike to boot 🙁

anyone had the procedure done/ what to expect e.t.c thanks in advance.

hopefully when i am recovered,am planning on saving up for a new bike in celebration (either a fixed wheel road bike/or cx bike 🙂

I've not had that op, but I have had my first encounter with the cheeky little devils recently, so can partially sympathise with you. I now have more fibre in my diet than before and am learning that it's not about how fast you can coil one out.

Anyway, have you considered building something with a nice, plush rear suspension setup?

I know a fella who had it done.
The nurse who changed his dressings ,daily, got to know him well 😯
Full but initially uncomfortable recovery apparently.
Best of luck,it'll be worth it,especially if it gets you back on the bike. 🙂

Had it done 15+ years ago after suffering for a long, long time. Made my life a misery, which I passed on, I'm surprised I didn't suffer from blood loss issues when I crapped.
I was told they'd keep me in hospital till after I had my first bowel motion, so was surprised when I was discharged prior to this, however when the inevitable happened I understood why they were happy to see me gone, I have never experienced pain like that, it was like trying to pass a hedgehog.
However once the healing had time to bed in it honestly changed my world, what a burden to lose, it made me a lot happier.
Take a deep breath and go through with it, you have nothing to lose except your grapes of wrath.
