I'm thinking about having one, for a few games and mainly Blu-ray support.
I'm concerned that the unit makes a lot of noise (fans and the like) and would detract from films.
Anyone got one they use for Blu-ray? What is it like?
My 2 boys have a PS3 and a Xbox, the PS3 is much quieter than the Xbox 360. I never really noticed any fan noise when watching films on it.
Yup and never notice the noise and minimal anyway. If you hearing the noise of fans whilst watching a film then it's a shite film.
PS3s make a lovely job of rendering .avi files too.
Damn! Now I'll have to get one!

PS3 is a jolly decent Bluray player and also seems to upscale conventional DVDs too - much better than our normal player. Digital optical link to 5.1 sound too works very well. Recommended.
Hear you can play games on it too.
