MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
My riding buddy has been having open heart surgery since he was a kid... and as a result has a pace maker.
Yesterday at Llandegla he had a relatively big off, in which he landed shoudler and chest (pace maker side)and its scared the wits out of him.
What do the great STW collective think he should be using for some protection?
Thanks,
Andy.
not got one yet, but it is looking very likely.
it would be pretty hard to get a protective item to sit exactly where his pacemaker is.
also taking a hit directly on the pacemaker would be pretty rare.
Would it make sense for him to fashion his own protection (maybe by chopping up some off the shelf pads) such that the pacemaker was closely surrounded by some pretty solid padding that projected further than the PM?
Bit like making a "doughnut" bandage round a wound where something is sticking out.
his main concern is that his is made of titanium and glass, he doesn't know how much abuse they are supposed to take, He is going to find this out though...
It may be just a peace of mind issue... anyway I have looked at this 661 vest on CRC and at £11 its gotta be worth a punt? also sorts out what I'm getting him for xmas 😉
