Always feel a bit stiff after riding. Anyone do yoga to make themselves more supple/ fitter?

used to. It's great. Made me realise how tight hamstrings get if you ride a lot.
Def worth getting yourself a regular stretching routine - do it immediately after every ride tho.

Yoga gives you core strength which is great for power and hill climbing too

Yoga - Just exercise for lazy people. Nothing more than glorified stretching and mobility routines.

Slightly harsh but true.

If you suffer from tight hammies then do lots of mob and stretching exercises for them. Plenty will cross over into the yoga field, but less grannies in leggings in a church hall, and a more productive use of your time.

Ooooo get the yoga haters have you tried it? Its also to do with controling your breathing, posture and body while streaching.

did yoga for a while (hams and back were my issues), I enjoyed it and found it helpful - but I didn't regard it as exercise - more suppleness improvment/assistance/enforced stretching - I stopped as the particular course I joined got more and more into chanting and that was (for me) a bit too much.

I'm 'developing' a post exercise stretching habit and routine, and that is really helping me.

Re "grannies in leggings in a church hall," - at least they're doing something to keep fit and exercise, do you know how destructive and expensive to the NHS the current trend for gross overeating and underexercising is, I await with distinctly unbated breath to see some of todays bloaters as grannies in lycra - they look like sh!t as youngsters so give it a bit of skin sag, joint immobility, continued overeating etc it'll be like looking at a jellyfish on a mobility scooter

Wow, didn't expect that response, although in hindsight....

Yes I've tried it, several types and times. It's stretching and breathing exercises in a group environment. Not at all worthless but I've progressed far more quickly and efficiently by using my own set of mob and stretching exercises.

Not sure where I've insulted said grannies, maybe you could enlighten me?
