I love a sauna and I am keen to build something for our place. Needing a bit of inspiration - anyone built one? Pics please if you have.

You can get this type of thing on Ebay

Think I would buy a secind hand indoor one tale it apart and build a shed around it in the Garden.

Not yet, it's dismantled in the garage at the mo, plan to clad it in cedar shingles and see how it goes

WCA built a outdoor sex den and tried to palm it off as a sauna.....

Ah, the old sex den aspect always has to be taken into account with anything that melds steaminess and Scandinavia. There's a public footpath running next to where I'm thinking of building it. I could build in some secret speakers playing a loop of sexy noises - see if we attract any new punters (to our holiday cottages).
Thanks for your help.

This is probably a bit more helpful. I found a link to the thread:

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/wca-shed-thread

It was actually for putting a hot tub in with a sauna built into one corner of it.
Worth a look, anyway....

I like to wheel one of these over the exhaust vents at the local bakery and climb inside. Sometimes if I am lucky, they empty a tray of old bread in as well for a mid sauna snack.

Hmmm, just read the WCA build thread. Impressive work, but not quite what I had in mind. After something more like righog's suggestion, but less round so it won't roll down our very steep field if occupants 'get jiggy' (unless they're up for some sort of impromptu hot coital zorbing experience).

I'm thinking something a bit more folky in design, but using some new technology. Got my mate who is an off grid expert coming round to see if we can power this thing off solar.

I have a Finnish mate who tried to build one in his garage but claimed he couldn't get it hot enough without a 3 phase feed. He is Finnish though, anything above tepid would have us sweating cobs.
